Lucerne Alfalfa

Lucerne Alfalfa is the highest-yielding forage plant, offering the combination of high yield per hectare and high nutritional quality.

Primarily used as a feed for high-producing dairy cows, having a high protein content and highly digestible fibre. Also widely used to feed beef cattle, horses, sheep, goats and meat rabbits. In poultry diets, dehydrated alfalfa and alfalfa leaf concentrates are used for pigmenting eggs and meat. The high carotenoid content is efficient in colouring egg yolk and body lipids.

Dehydrated alfalfa leaf is commercially available as a dietary supplement in several forms, such as tablets, powders and tea, for human consumption. Alfalfa is rich in chlorophyll, carotene, protein, calcium, other minerals, vitamins B group, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E, and vitamin K.
